West Ham United have allegedly opened talks to sign FC Zurich defender Becir Omeragic ahead of the summer transfer window.
That’s according to a report from Tuttomercatoweb who claim that the talented 20-year-old could be sold this summer with just one year remaining on his current deal with FC Zurich.
Central defence is clearly an area at the London Stadium where Hammers manager David Moyes wants to strengthen this summer.
Nayef Aguerd is believed to be close to joining West Ham (L’Equipe).
And it seems as though Moyes wants to further strengthen his centre-back ranks in East London…
West Ham open talks to sign Becir Omeragic
Tuttomercatoweb reckon that the Hammers have opened talks with FC Zurich about signing the 6ft 2in centre-back.
There 20-year-old is very highly rated indeed in Switzerland and we believe that he would be a very useful addition for West Ham.
Omeragic is very strong in the air and is fairly quick along the ground.
He’s an impressive tackler and reader of the game but it is his ability with the ball that separates him from most other central defenders.
His passing ability has been described as ‘superb’ by well-renowned football analyst website Breaking The Lines.
The Swiss youngster’s ability to beat the press with precise passing would be a real asset for the Hammers.
Zurich value Omeragic at around €7 million (£6 million) according to The Laziali.
And if West Ham manage to sign Becir Omeragic for that kind of money, it would have to go down as very good business indeed for the club.
