West Ham should try to prise powerful central midfielder Denis Zakaria away from Chelsea in the January transfer window.
Central midfield is certainly an area at the London Stadium where Hammers boss David Moyes needs to strengthen this winter. And the 26-year-old currently on loan at Chelsea would be absolutely perfect for us.
It was recently claimed by Gazzetta dello Sport that Zakaria will not be hanging around at Chelsea.
The Italian media outlet claim that Chelsea boss Graham Potter is not keen to exercise the purchase option he has in place to keep him at Stamford Bridge.

The option is said to be worth around £30 million (The Daily Mail).
Zakaria has really struggled to impress at Chelsea, so if he does go back to Juventus, maybe West Ham will try to sign him again…
West Ham should try to sign on-loan Chelsea ace Denis Zakaria on January
The Hammers should be going all out to sign him next summer, despite his failure to establish himself with Chelsea.
Zakaria is a defensive midfielder by trade but crucially as far as West Ham are concerned, he can play in the centre-back position as as well.
The Swiss international is incredibly dynamic and energetic. He is a tenacious tackler and has the kind of physicality needed to succeed in the Premier League.
If he was given a regular run of games by David Moyes at the London Stadium, I’m certain that he would prove his true worth.
Former BSC Young Boys coach Uli Forte told Mondo Napoli in July 2021:

“He is an incredible box-to-box [player]. He has exceptional technique and grinds kilometres. All his characteristics were appreciated from a very young age, and he made his debut at the age of 18. He has offers from England, he has the right characteristics for the Premier. He will become a devastating player. Zakaria is a champion and has characteristics more or less similar to [Napoli midfielder Diego] Demme. Quantity, but a lot of quality.”
He has only made two appearances for the west London outfit since joining them in the summer transfer window.
It just seems as though it was the wrong move at the wrong time for the 45-capped Switzerland international.
And in my opinion, West Ham should save Denis Zakaria from his Chelsea nightmare in January.
