West Ham have missed out on the signing of Filip Kostic with the 29-year-old set to stay at Eintracht Frankfurt this summer.

Frankfurter Rundschau claims that the 48-capped Serbia international is set to stay with the Bundesliga club for one more season.

However, the good thing for the Hammers is that Kostic will be out of contract ith Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023.

So perhaps West Ham manager David Moyes can bring him to the London Stadium then for absolutely nothing.

The 29-year-old ace would be a superb signing for the East London outfit.

And Moyes definitely should be planning ahead to secure his services on a free transfer in 12 month’s time…

West Ham miss out on Kostic

The 29-year-old Serbian is set to stay with Eintracht Frankfurt for another season according to a report from Frankfurter Rundschau.

We believe that Kostic would have been a fine addition to Moyes’s ranks at West Ham this summer.

But hopefully we can just sign him next year for nothing.

The 29-year-old Eintracht Frankfurt ace is an incredibly hard-working player.

Kostic is a winger by trade but has operated effectively as a wing-back for Eintracht Frankfurt on numerous occasions this season.

He is old fashioned in the sense that he’s left-footed and plays on the left! As a result, Kostic is much more of a provider than a goalscorer.

The Serbian bagged 15 assists and seven goals in 43 games for Eintracht Frankfurt last season (Transfermarkt). That’s a healthy return by anyone’s standards.

On face value, he has everything that West Ham boss David Moyes looks for in potential new signings.

It’s a shame if West Ham do in fact miss out on Kostic. But there’s always next summer, and signing him on a free transfer then would be unbelievable business for the Hammers.
