West Ham have launched a Lucas Paqueta revenge attack on Man City with a stunning £50m bid to hijack their Jeremy Doku move claims a journalist.
That’s according to new claims emerging from a well connected journalist in France.
And while Paqueta has remained thoroughly professional, reports have suggested he wants the move and a deal between West Ham and Man City looks inevitable for a fee expected to reach between £80-90m.
The Hammers have responded to Manchester City’s attempts to take their star man off their hands, though, it seems.
West Ham have launched a Paqueta revenge attack on Man City with stunning £50m bid to hijack their Jeremy Doku move claims a journalist.
Santi Aouna was the man who broke news of Man City’s bid for Paqueta. And he was right across the Brazilian magnifico’s record £51m move to West Ham from Lyon last summer too.
Because Man City have seen their £45m offer bettered by West Ham.
“According to our information, West Ham are also in the game and the Hammers have even already made an offer to Rennes,” Aouna reports on Foot Mercato.
“The amount has not filtered, but the hours of Doku in Brittany are more than ever counted.”
Yesterday a key West Ham star pleaded with Paqueta to stay in east London.
But in doing so he dropped a big hint that he looks almost certain to be leaving for Man City.
Stocky and powerful, Doku is one of the most explosive young attacking players in Europe.
The 21-year-old has long been coveted by a host of top clubs and has 18 caps for Belgium.
On the face of it, West Ham “hijacking” any Man City transfer seems somewhat ridiculous.
But perhaps the Hammers are banking on persuading the player he will get more guaranteed game time with them than he would at the Etihad.
