West Ham are on the verge of sealing one of the club’s most exciting transfers for years after a rollercoaster few days.
And Hammers fans are desperately hoping to get a glimpse of him against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night.
According to the likes of L’Equipe and Sky Sports, the Hammers have agreed a club record £50m plus deal to sign Brazil international Paqueta from Lyon.
David Moyes confirmed Paqueta was in London on Sunday for his medical and West Ham fans are eagerly awaiting the official announcement.
West Ham welcome Tottenham to Stratford on Wednesday night boosted by their first win – and goal – of the season against Aston Villa.
Facing Spurs will be a different kettle of fish for the Hammers, though. Antonio Conte’s side look like serious contenders for – at the very least – top four again.
Tottenham have started the season unbeaten with three wins and a draw from their opening four games.
West Ham will be hoping to record back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time since January when Spurs come to what promises to be a white hot atmosphere at the London Stadium.
Moyes will be hoping to he can sprinkle some Brazilian stardust over proceedings.

Speaking on Twitter, Claret and Hugh’s Sean Whetstone revealed the somewhat complex process needed over the bank holiday to meet the requirements.
“Lucas Paqeuta meets the minimum points threshold meaning he will automatically be granted a GBE (Governing Body Endorsement), which in turn will allow him to obtain the necessary home office work permit to play in England,” Whetstone said on Twitter.
“He will need to registered with the Premier League by noon on Tuesday to be available against Spurs.”
Knowing the way Moyes operates, the Scot almost certainly won’t throw Paqueta straight into the West Ham starting XI even if he is signed and registered in time to face Tottenham.
But it would give everyone at West Ham a huge lift if the Brazil star can take his place in the squad for the game.
And what better introduction to English football and playing for West Ham than against a fierce rival like Spurs.
