West Ham are in talks with Man City over a star but it’s not just Lucas Paqueta as Sky Sports make a new Cole Palmer claim.
Back in April West Ham were being heavily linked with a move for Manchester City attacker Cole Palmer in the summer transfer window.
With Gianluca Scamacca having been sold to Atalanta, West Ham are desperate for attacking reinforcements.
And that desperation will become even more acute if star player Lucas Paqueta is sold to Man City as the champions push for the Brazil star.
It seems that approach from Man City has prompted West Ham to press home their interest in bringing Palmer – who can play as a winger, attacking midfielder or striker – to the London Stadium.

West Ham in talks with Man City over star but it’s not just Lucas Paqueta as Sky Sports make new Cole Palmer claim
Because West Ham are in talks with Man City over a star but it’s not just Paqueta as Sky Sports make a new Palmer claim.
According to the outlet, West Ham have a strong interest in Manchester City forward Palmer and have begun talks to explore a deal for the 21-year-old.
Frustratingly for Hammers fans, though, the talks centre around a loan. And it is not clear whether there would be any option to buy.
Ironically the move could come about as a result of Man City bringing in Paqueta from West Ham, which – it is claimed – would limit Palmer’s game time.

If Palmer deal transpires to be a loan with no option then it smacks of Hammers desperation
“It has not been confirmed if a potential deal for Palmer is part of any discussions over City’s pursuit of Paqueta,” Sky Sports states.
“Palmer scored against Arsenal for City in the Community Shield on Sunday.”
Palmer, 20, can also play on either side of a front three as well as attacking midfield. He has been a regular in the Man City squad over the last couple of seasons.
He has made 28 appearance for Man City, mostly as a substitute. But he has caught the eye with his ability.
West Ham fans will welcome this kind of approach to recruitment as David Moyes had previously promised to sign young, talented stars who are hungry to get a chance to prove themselves at the highest level.
Indeed that is said to be West Ham’s new recruitment philosophy under technical director Tim Steidten.
If it is only a loan with no option, though, it smacks of desperation rather than any grand plan.
