West Ham have tabled an official offer to sign Christian Eriksen on a free transfer

West Ham United have allegedly made an official offer to sign Denmark international midfielder Christian Eriksen.

That’s according to a report from The Daily Mail (print edition June 21st, page 66) who claim that the Hammers have tabled an official offer to sign the 30-year-old on a free transfer this summer.

Christian Eriksen would be a tremendous addition to David Moyes’s ranks at the London Stadium.

Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest whilst playing for Denmark at the Euros last summer.

It wasn’t surprising that clubs were apprehensive about signing the 30-year-old. Brentford took the plunge though and he has gone on to be a huge hit with the Premier League side.

Eriksen has really impressed since moving to Brentford on a free transfer in January. He played a key role for Thomas Frank’s side.

The 30-year-old proved over the past couple of months that he still has the quality needed to make a difference in the Premier League.

The Dane bagged one goal and four assists in 11 Premier League games for the Bees last season (Transfermarkt).

Brentford allegedly have a new contract offer on the table for the former Tottenham man (Claret and Hugh) but he is currently undecided as to where his future lies. And a move to the London Stadium could well be on the cards…

West Ham make official offer for Christian Eriksen

The Daily Mail reckon that an official offer has been submitted by the Hammers to Eriksen and his agents.

And signing the 30-year-old on a free transfer would be truly exceptional business for David Moyes in my view.

Eriksen’s creativity, guile, composure in possession and quality of passing would take us to a whole new level entirely next season.

The Dane is still one of the very best play-makers in world football.

There will undoubtedly be plenty of competition for his signature, that goes without saying, such is his quality.

Perhaps the opportunity to stay in London will appeal to the 30-year-old star though.

And if West Ham genuinely have made an official Christian Eriksen offer, we believe that we are more than capable of winning the race for his services this summer.
