West Ham look set to miss out on David Moyes target Vitinha with Paris Saint-Germain having met his €40 million (£34 million) release clause.
According to 90min, PSG are closing in on the signing of the 22-year-old Porto midfielder.
And that will be a big blow for David Moyes. The Hammers boss wanted to bring Vitinha to the London Stadium according to the likes of O Jogo.
£34 million represents fantastic value for the Portuguese ace in my book. The 22-year-old would have been a truly brilliant addition for West Ham.
And he certainly would have been the ideal compliment to Declan Rice in the middle of the park at the London Stadium.
It seems as though Moyes will have to look elsewhere now though…
David Moyes target Vitinha is PSG bound
The Hammers allegedly will have to make do without Vitinha next season and that’s a real shame.
The Porto ace is an incredibly talented young footballer and could go on to become one of the elite players on the world stage. He will now have to platform to do just that at the Parc des Princes.
90min reckon that the Ligue 1 giants have triggered the Portugal international’s £34 million release clause.
Highly respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has also shared the news via his Twitter account:
Signing a top central midfielder should be one of the main priorities for David Moyes before the start of the new season.
Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek are in desperate need of more competition and cover and someone with high energy levels, pace, power and vision would be ideal. Vitinha has all of those things.
He will undoubtedly flourish with PSG.
And it’s up to David Moyes to identify a new target now. Hopefully the Scot is allowed to work without one hand tied behind his back…
