West Ham have made a surprise call to Aston Villa about star Jhon Duran and he ‘may fancy the move’ claims a journalist.
This time last year West Ham were in need of a striker and picked up the phone to Premier League rivals Aston Villa.
And now it seems history may be repeating itself.
Although West Ham fans and David Moyes will be hoping it proves more successful than Danny Ings’ £15m move from Villa to the London Stadium.
Moyes told Les Ferdinand in a TV interview last month that he has been scouring the world trying to find a new striker. The club’s lack of depth up front has been exposed of late due to injuries and AFCON.

West Ham call Villa about Duran
The Irons have been linked with a plethora of forwards, especially since offloading Gianluca Scamacca in the summer.
And the latest is Aston Villa bit-part forward Jhon Duran.
West Ham have called Aston Villa about star Duran and he ‘may fancy the move’.
That’s according to Scottish journalist Alan Nixon, who – notably – counts Hammers boss Moyes among his close contacts.

Striker ‘may fancy the move’
Writing on his Patreon page, Nixon claims West Ham have lodged the ‘surprise’ enquiry with Villa. And the Colombian may be up for joining the Hammers given his lack of game time under Unai Emery.
“Hammers have also made a surprise inquiry for Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran,” Nixon states.
“The Colombian wants more game time and may fancy a move.
“However Villa are unlikely to do business for Duran, who has other admirers including Chelsea, unless there is a big offer rather than a loan deal.”

Save a Prayer for Hammers hopes
Say his name quickly and the striker sounds like a well known hit 70s band formed in – ironically – Birmingham.
Moyes is certainly Hungry Like the Wolf to bring a new forward to West Ham.
The Scot has scoured Planet Earth without much joy thus far. Tim Steidten even went to Rio in the summer to try and sign a striker.
So Save a Prayer for the Hammers as they look to bring talented Duran to east London.
Duran, 20, has three goals in just five starts in all competitions for Aston Villa this season.
