Anton Ferdinand has spoken out on West Ham moves for Arsenal ace Emile Smith Rowe and Man City’s Kalvin Phillips.
West Ham have been heavily linked with moves for the midfield duo this week.
On Friday The Guardian claimed the Hammers are “aiming to secure Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe and Manchester City outcast Kalvin Phillips on loan deals” before the January transfer window closes.
It is not the first time West Ham have been linked with Smith Rowe. Back in October we reported on Hammers News about claims David Moyes wanted to sign the Gunners academy graduate on deadline day in the summer and would try again in the winter window.
Speaking in his latest pre-match press conference, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta insisted he wants Smith Rowe to stay amid interest from West Ham.

Ferdinand on West Ham moves for Smith Rowe and Phillips
But Pep Guardiola has already made it clear Phillips can leave Man City this month. And this week West Ham have emerged as the favourites to sign him on loan.
Phillips joining the Hammers looks much more likely than Smith Rowe as things stand given Arsenal’s stance.
But one former West Ham star is excited by the ‘healthy rumours’ and says it would be the ideal move for both players.
Anton Ferdinand has spoken out on West Ham moves for Arsenal ace Smith Rowe and Man City’s Phillips.
Ferdinand told Five the signings would address West Ham’s biggest issue – a lack of strength in depth.
And he believes the Hammers are the club that can get Smith Rowe going again.

‘Hammers can get ESR going again’
“Some healthy, healthy news coming out of West Ham, some healthy rumours in the transfer market,” Ferdinand said.
“Emile Smith Rowe, Kalvin Phillips, would I take them at West Ham? Course I would!
“We need depth in our squad, that was a major, major thing we saw in the week at Bristol – we need depth.
“We need depth and quality. And I’m telling you Emile Smith Rowe – he’d be brilliant. It’s almost like when we got Jesse Lingard, he needs to play, he’s hungry to play, he’s got a point to prove, West Ham’s the club that can get him going…
“It’s the same with Kalvin Phillips. I said in the summer we should have got him. But we didn’t, we got (Edson) Alvarez, who has been fantastic since he’s come. But we need depth. So come on West Ham, go and get the both of them and let’s have it!“
