A close friend of West Ham boss David Moyes has let slip the signing he really wants to make in January and Wolves will be worried.

When claims emerged last month that David Moyes had told friends he was leaving West Ham in the summer it sparked an interesting response from the Scot.

Hammers boss Moyes hit back at the claims saying he ‘doesn’t have many friends’.

But for those who don’t know, some who does count himself as one of them is legendary striker turned pundit Ally McCoist.

Moyes and McCoist are old roommates from their days as Scotland youth internationals. And they remain good friends to this day.

So that gives added weight to comments McCoist has just made regarding West Ham’s transfer activity- which may be very bad news for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

West Ham have been heavily linked with Wolves skipper Max Kilman having offloaded Thilo Kehrer and with talk Nayef Aguerd could follow.

Wolverhampton boss and former Hammers midfielder Gary O’Neil gave his old club huge encouragement when he admitted he must sell to buy this month.

It could be bad news for Wolves

And CBS journalist Ben Jacobs recently claimed a West Ham move for Wolves star Kilman was ‘one to watch’ in the January transfer window.

Managers rarely – if ever – publicly admit interest in players with other clubs. Especially one of the old school like Moyes.

But McCoist has let the cat out of the bag on behalf of the Hammers manager.

Because it’s that man Kilman.

“That (West Ham signing Kilman) would make sense,” McCoist said on talkSPORT.

“I know Moysey is a fan.

“Kehrer is away. That would be a good move.”

Wolves are reportedly interested in a host of West Ham players including Danny Ings, Said Benrahma and Maxwel Cornet.

So it could be the Hammers use one of those players as potential makeweights in any bid.
