West Ham United have been given a huge boost in our hopes of signing Akor Adams from Montpellier this winter.
With West Ham boss David Moyes desperate to sign a new striker, Montpellier hitman Akor Adams is seemingly an option for us.
The Hammers manager currently has Michail Antonio, Danny Ings and the teenage Divin Mubama as his only centre-forward options at the London Stadium.
Antonio and Ings could be off in January, or next summer at the latest, and the addition of someone who has real pace but can finish as well is very much needed.
Adams, 23, certainly fits into that category, and I think he’d be a terrific addition for us. With his pace, it will enable us to play long balls over the top, in behind the opposition’s defence, and that is vital when you’re under the cosh.
Now it seems like West Ham have a real chance of signing the Nigerian speedster this winter…

West Ham handed Akor Adams boost
The Montpellier hitman could be set for a big move to England from France in January.
The striker responded when asked whether he’d be interested in joining the Hammers, when speaking to Milan News:
“To tell the truth, I haven’t thought about it and I don’t know anything (about West Ham’s interest). My mind is on Montpellier. But for all young players, the Premier League is a dream.”
He has bagged seven goals in 17 games out in France this season, and has 51 goals and 14 assists to his name in 122 career games – a very decent record indeed (Transfermarkt).
The Nigeria international is absolutely rapid, is strong in the challenge and in the air and worked incredibly hard – basically the ideal upgrade on Michail Antonio.
He is well known for being a tireless worker – someone who doesn’t stop pressing from the front and he keeps the opposing defenders occupied for the entire game.
He stands at 6ft 3in tall as well, so seems to have the perfect physique for the English game. If West Ham sign Akor Adams in January, I’ll be over the moon. However, whether Montpellier will be willing to sell him midway through the season remains to be seen.
