West Ham goalkeeper Krisztian Hegyi has made a very honest admission about where he wants to be playing his football next season.

West Ham United stopper Krisztian Hegyi is one of the most highly-rated young players at the London Stadium.

He is now the captain of the West Ham under-21 team and David Moyes is clearly a big fan, having recently included him in the squad for our UEFA Europa Conference League clash with AEK Larnaca.

Hegyi has been described as ‘sensational’ by the Hammers’ official website. And the young Hungarian impresses pretty much every time he puts the gloves on for West Ham’s youth team.

He recently admitted that he would be keen to explore a loan move away from the London Stadium though.

And the West Ham youngster has just doubled down on that admission…

The Hungarian stopper has been speaking to WHUFC.com about his recent progression with the under-21s.

Hegyi suggested that a loan move away from the London Stadium next season would aid his development as a player:

“I’d like, next year, to make another step forward and get some first team football under my belt. If I can get a loan in the EFL, that would be incredible. It’s massive, as a young goalkeeper, to play for a Club that has a procedure that knows what’s going to work for you and help you get even better. Nathan is currently out on loan, getting experience, and Joe was out on loan too. Even in our group, Jacob Knightbridge is getting first team experience out on loan. It would be good for me to make use of that pathway. I’m sure it will be a massive benefit to my own development. Most goalkeepers will go on loan at some point when they’re young, just to get that taste of first team football. It can help a lot. I want to get that experience under my belt so I can get closer to the ultimate goal of playing for West Ham.”

I agree with Krisztian Hegyi, and firmly believe that a loan move away from West Ham next season is exactly what he needs.

If the 20-year-old Hungarian is to fulfil his potential, he should be playing regularly at senior level next term in my opinion.

And judging by Hegyi’s latest comments, he will be pushing to do exactly that.
