West Ham are keen to sign Bayer Leverkusen striker Patrik Schick in the January transfer window according to a report from 90Min.
And some Hammers fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.
West Ham’s need to sign a top-class striker in January has been well-documented.
David Moyes failed to replace Sebastien Haller in the summer. This time there can be no excuses though.
Michail Antonio is in desperate need of more cover and competition.
And we think that Patrik Schick would be the ideal man for the job at the London Stadium.
The 25-year-old has been on fire for Leverkusen this season with 16 goals in 14 Bundesliga games to his name (Transfermarkt).
The Czech ace is absolutely perfect for the Hammers. He’s tall, strong, physical and is a hard worker. The fact that three of his fellow Czech Republic internationals are already at West Ham (Tomas Soucek, Vladimir Coufal and Alex Kral) should work in our favour as well.
Schick possesses exceptional technique and would undoubtedly make a huge difference to our potency in the final third.
He won’t come cheap though. Leverkusen will demand around £40 million for the Czech hitman in January (The Mirror).
