West Ham fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to rumours that Marseille defender Duje Caleta-Car could be London Stadium bound in January.
Hammers boss David Moyes absolutely must bolster his central defensive ranks at the London Stadium next month.
And according to RMC Sport, Marseille defender Caleta-Car is one man who is on West Ham’s radar ahead of the January transfer window.
The 25-year-old has been a target for the Hammers since last year. As things stand though, he is still a Marseille player.
The Croatia international’s current deal with the Ligue 1 outfit expires in the summer of 2023, so there is every chance that Marseille could be tempted to sell him in January.
They may risk losing him for nothing in 18 months time otherwise.
West Ham fans react to Caleta-Car January claims
We think that Caleta-Car would be a superb addition for West Ham. L’Equipe claims that the Craotian could be available for just £14 million.
Well-renowned football analysis and scouting website IBWM recently described Caleta-Car as an ‘exceptional talent’.
He is tall and commanding in the air and very comfortable with the ball at his feet as well.
The 25-year-old is a very strong all-round defender and he would improve the Hammers’ back-line immeasurably.
He certainly seems to possess all of the physical attributes needed to play in the Premier League. And the Marseille ace proved his worth for Croatia at the Euros in the summer, especially against England when he kept Harry Kane quiet.
