Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to bring a truly top-class centre-back to the London Stadium in January.
Angelo Ogbonna is out for the season and Kurt Zouma won’t be back for at least another five-six weeks.
West Ham miss those two badly and our season has imploded without them. In order to salvage our 2021/22 campaign, Moyes must act in the January transfer window.

And it seems as though he could go knocking in Ligue 1 for the solution to his problems.
West Ham eyeing January swoop for Marseille ace Duje Caleta-Car
RMC Sport claims that the 25-year-old centre-back is firmly on the Hammers’ radar ahead of the January transfer window…once again.
We could face competition for the Croatia international’s signature, however.
We think that Caleta-Car would be an exceptional addition for West Ham. L’Equipe claims that the Craotian could be available for just £14 million.
In 33 Ligue 1 appearances for Marseille last season, the Croatian scored two goals and registered one assist. In those outings, the Croatian averaged 0.9 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 3.9 clearances per game. He also won an average of 2.5 aerial duals per match (Who Scored).

The 6ft 4in Croatian has improved in all of those categories bar clearances in nine Ligue 1 outings so far this season.
Well-renowned football analysis and scouting website IBWM recently described Caleta-Car as an ‘exceptional talent’.
The 25-year-old is a very strong all-round defender and he would improve West Ham’s back-line immeasurably.

And £14 million would be a very small price to pay for the towering and aerially commanding Marseille centre-back.
