West Ham United allegedly could face strong competition from Arsenal for the signing of Maxence Lacroix this summer.

That’s according to a report from Media Foot who claim that Arsenal are tracking the extremely talented 22-year-old Hammers target.

West Ham manager David Moyes allegedly wants to bring Lacroix to the London Stadium this summer.

The big problem for the Hammers is that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta does as well (Media Foot).

We all know that the Gunners have far superior spending power than the Hammers do.

So it’s obvious to see that Arsenal may well represent a big problem for us this summer…

West Ham face competition from Arsenal for Maxence Lacroix

Maxence Lacroix is a transfer target for both the Hammers and the Gunners this summer according to a report from Media Foot.

Missing out on his signature to our London rivals would be a very big blow indeed.

He’s that good.

The 6ft 3in defender cuts a really imposing figure and is very strong in the air. He’s quick along the ground as well and is a great reader of the game.

The Frenchman plays with a certain kind of maturity that defies his tender years.

In 29 Bundesliga appearances for Wolfsburg last season, Lacroix averaged two tackles, 2.1 interceptions, 4.8 clearances and 2.6 successful aerial duels per game (Who Scored).

The 22-year-old made 52.4 passes per game and recorded a completion rate of 81.4% (Who Scored).

Lacroix would be a sensational signing for West Ham but Arsenal will obviously represent a huge problem for us.

If Lacroix demands huge wages, and with a €40 million (£34 million) clause inserted into his Wolfsburg contract (Buli News), West Ham might find it hard to compete with Arsenal.

The 22-year-old is a hugely talented young centre-back and possesses all of the attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League. Bundesliga social media manager Alex Chaffer recently labelled him as a ‘magnificent’ defender.

Meanwhile, the Bundesliga’s official website describe the Frenchman as ‘superb’.

Whether we are able to beat Arsenal to the signing of Maxence Lacroix remains to be seen though.
