West Ham dealt big blow as 18-year-old allegedly could be Liverpool bound in summer transfer window

Liverpool seem to be in the box seat to beat West Ham to the summer transfer window signing of talented Aberdeen youngster Calvin Ramsay.

Press and Journal claim that Aberdeen are asking for £10 million from Liverpool for Ramsay – a fee made up by £5 million up front and £5 million in achievable add-ons.

Hammers boss David Moyes wants to bring the 18-year-old right-back to the London Stadium, according to a report from The Scottish Sun.

It now seems as though we might have our work cut-out, however, with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp trying to bring Ramsay to Anfield this summer.

The teenage right-back is very highly rated in Scotland. And Liverpool have history of signing talented young Scottish full-backs – read Andy Robertson.

Perhaps the Hammers will find it hard to beat the Reds to the signature of the Aberdeen starlet this summer…

West Ham face Liverpool battle for Calvin Ramsay summer transfer

Press and Journal claim claim that the Merseyside giants are chasing the 18-year-old and will have to pay around £10 million in order to bring him to Anfield.

That obviously won’t be a problem for Liverpool whilst West Ham may struggle to fork out that kind of money for a young up and coming player, considering how many other players Moyes needs to sign this summer.

The thing is, West Ham could actually do with another right-back.

Ryan Fredericks has been released from the London Stadium whilst Ben Johnson seems to be better when playing at left-back or centre-back.

Meanwhile, Vladimir Coufal will be 30 in August and Harrison Ashby is totally unproven at Premier League level.

Ramsay would be a very strong signing for the Hammers. He seems to have the talent needed to go on and become a real star in the game.

Ramsay has made 39 senior appearances for Aberdeen already and has chalked up nine assists in the process (Transfermarkt).

The 18-year-old is an attacking right-back in every sense. He is full of energy, stamina, determination and drive.

£10 million will surely end up being sensational value for Calvin Ramsay.

And if Liverpool beat West Ham to the summer transfer signing of the Aberdeen ace, it will very much be their gain and our loss.
