West Ham United are allegedly in the mix to sign talented Bayern Munich midfielder Marc Roca this summer.
That’s according to a report from The Athletic who claim that the Hammers will have to pay around £10 million if we want to sign the 25-year-old midfielder.
Central midfield is certainly an area at the London Stadium where West Ham manager David Moyes needs to strengthen this summer.
Mark Noble has retired whilst Alex Kral will not be kept on following his woeful loan spell in East London.
And it seems as though David Moyes has someone in particular in mind to come in and bolster his engine room options…
West Ham eyeing Marc Roca swoop
According to a report from The Athletic, the Hammers could make a £10 million move to sign the Bayern Munich midfielder this summer.
We believe that Roca would actually be a very smart signing for West Ham, especially for the £10 million fee being quoted.
The Spaniard would certainly provide strong competition and cover for Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek at the London Stadium.
The 25-year-old joined Bayern from Espanyol in the summer of 2020 for around £12.5 million (ESPN).
He can play in the defensive midfield and orthodox central midfield positions.
Roca is very good technically, as most Spanish midfielders are. The Bayern ace possesses impressive energy and stamina levels and isn’t afraid to get stuck in.
The 25-year-old seems to be more than capable of adapting to Premier League football from the Bundesliga, what with his physical capabilities.
The Bayern star needs to be playing regular football at this stage of his career – something that he is just not getting enough of at the Allianz Arena.
And if West Ham sign Marc Roca for around £10 million, it would be very good business indeed for the East London outfit.
