West Ham United have allegedly been offered the chance to sign Argentinian striker Giovanni Simeone this summer.

That’s according to a report from The Times who claim that the 26-year-old could be Hammers bound after a stellar loan campaign with Hellas Verona.

Hellas Verona have an option to buy him for £10.2 million (The Express). They could, of course, exercise that option and then sell him onto West Ham for a profit, however.

Gazzetta dello Sport reckon that £13 million might actually be enough to tempt Hellas Verona into selling this summer.

Hammers boss David Moyes is desperately looking to add a top class forward to his ranks at the London Stadium this summer.

If we are to compete on all fronts next season, more quality competition and cover for Michail Antonio will be required.

And it seems as though the Hammers have a very good chance to bring in someone who is ideal for our current setup…

West Ham offered striker

The Times claims that the Hammers have been offered the chance to sign Giovanni Simeone.

And we believe that he might just be a very good signing for West Ham United in the summer transfer window.

Simeone bagged 17 goals and six assists in 36 Serie A games last season (Transfermarkt).

He is a very hard working forward and his playing style is quintessentially South American what with his work-rate, desire and tenacity.

Simeone is very quick along the ground as well.

The 26-year-old striker is perfectly suited to West Ham and the way in which David Moyes likes his team to play.

He is in the best condition he has ever been in according to Tutto Mercato Web.

And if West Ham have been offered the five-capped Argentina international striker, there is no reason to sit around and wait. Hopefully we get this one wrapped up asap.

£13 million sounds like very good value to us. Whether Moyes is completely sold on Simeone though, remains to be seen.
