West Ham United allegedly can now sign Uruguayan midfielder Nahitan Nandez for a lot less than Cagliari were demanding for him last summer.

That’s according to a report from L’Unione Sarda who claim that the Hammers made a €40 million (£34 million) bid for the 26-year-old last summer that was rejected by Cagliari.

Central midfield is certainly an area at the London Stadium where David Moyes needs to strengthen in the summer transfer window.

Mark Noble has retired whilst Alex Kral will be moved on after an extremely underwhelming loan spell with West Ham.

We have already been linked with plenty of central midfielders including the likes of Burnley ace Josh Brownhill (90 Min), Chelsea starlet Conor Gallagher (The Daily Star) and Bologna star Jerdy Schouten (CalcioNapoli24).

One name who has been persistently linked with the Hammers is Cagliari star Nahitan Nandez. And now it seems as though he could be available for somewhat of a bargain fee…

West Ham can sign Cagliari midfielder on the cheap

The Hammers may well come back in for the Uruguay international this summer.

West Ham had a £34 million bid rejected for Nandez last summer. And now he is allegedly available for just €12 million (£10 million) according to (L’Unione Sarda).

That seems like fantastic value for the East London outfit.

Soccer Souls describe the tenacious midfielder as ‘outstanding’.

The 26-year-old averaged 1.9 tackles, 1.3 dribbles and 0.7 clearances in 21 Serie A appearances last season. He made 26 passes per game on average during those outings and recorded a completion rate of 74.4% (Who Scored).

Nandez is a tenacious tackler, has a real engine and his all-round playing style is quintessentially South American.

The South American can play in the deep-lying central midfield role or further forward in a more orthodox midfield position.

And if West Ham do sign the midfielder for just £10 million, we believe it will be great business for the club.
