West Ham United have been active in the January transfer window and are not showing any signs of slowing down.
Pablo and Taty Castellanos have joined, and work is ongoing to strengthen other areas of the pitch.
What are your EXPECTATIONS for Taty Castellanos? 🇦🇷
What does he need to do to justify that £27m price-tag?
There are expected to be outgoings too, with Lucas Paqueta already agreeing terms for a West Ham exit in the January transfer window.
To add to that, Nuno Espirito Santo is fighting for his job as West Ham are currently seven points adrift of safety.
Bento agreement with Genoa falls through
West Ham were keen on signing Bento, the Al Nassr goalkeeper, ahead of Serie A side Genoa.
The Hammers even made their move ahead of the Italian club in order to lure the 26-year-old to the London Stadium.
West Ham are in hot pursuit of Bento but he does not fancy them…😖
What would YOU do to convince him to join?
However, Bento reached an agreement to join Genoa, seemingly ending the Irons’ hopes of signing the Brazil international.
Now, there appears to be another twist in the tale.
Fabrizio Romano claims that the agreement has now been called off, and he will not be moving to Italy in January.
If the Hammers are open to waiting for a bit and then making a move towards the end of the window, they could secure his services.

What can Bento bring to West Ham?
Mads Hermansen has struggled for West Ham since his move from Leicester City.
The Hammers are looking to sell him, and signing Bento will provide good competition for Alphonse Areola.
The 26-year-old has shone in the Saudi Pro League, which is why he keeps getting called up to the Brazil national team.
Much like Alisson and Ederson, he is a modern-day keeper and enjoys sweeping, with his heat map mirroring theirs.
While Bento is good with his feet, he does not like taking risks in build-up and prefers a safety-first approach – something that Nuno would appreciate.
He is also a good shot stopper and could arguably usurp Areola to become the club’s number one a few weeks after joining.
It remains to be seen whether the West Ham hierarchy can succeed in convincing him to move to East London this winter.
