West Ham could be set to battle it out with Tottenham for the signing of Braga ace Vitor Oliveira in the January transfer window, according to a report from Calciomercato.

West Ham boss David Moyes and new Tottenham manager Antonio Conte will both be very keen to bolster their respective centre-forward ranks in January.

And it seems as though the Hammers and Spurs both have their eyes set on the same transfer target.

21-year-old Vitor Oliveira of Braga has been in fine form in Portugal this season.

The young striker, also knows as ‘Vitinha’ been attracting attention from all over the continent with some fine performances, notably during cup games where bagged six goals in just two games for Braga.

Spurs and the Hammers are all set to go head-to-head of the young Portuguese ace’s signature according to Calciomercato.

And that battle allegedly could take place in either January or the summer.

Oliveira would be a very smart signing for whichever club wins the race for his signature.

He has bagged seven goals in nine games for Braga so far this season (Transfermarkt).

He is very technically gifted, is an exceptional finisher and leads the line very well either on his own or with a partner.

The good news is that it seems as though the Hammers are leading the race to sign Vitinha.

That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb who suggest that West Ham are the club who are showing most interest in the Portuguese starlet right now.

Quite how much it will take for West Ham to prise him away from Braga remains to be seen.

This is definitely the kind of signing we should be looking to make though. Young and talented players with high ceilings. Vitinha certainly fits into that category.

Let’s hope that West Ham manage to beat Tottenham in the battle for his signature in January.
