West Ham United could be about to secure an unbelievable touch by selling Pablo Fornals this month.
Pablo Fornals seems to be edging ever closer to an exit from West Ham in the January transfer window, with Real Betis allegedly in talks to sign him.
The 27-year-old has been in terrible for for the Hammers over the past 18 months, and he has fallen well down the pecking order under David Moyes, this season especially.
Fornals has been an absolute shadow of his former self this term, and he seems to be totally devoid of any kind of confidence.
The Spaniard is no more than just a bit-part player at the London Stadium now, so an exit will be the best thing for him as well as us as a club.
But how much money will we be able to recoup on Pablo?
West Ham could get a huge Pablo Fornals touch
According to a report from AS, Real Betis are prepared to pay a maximum of €8 million (£7 million) for Fornals.
Whilst that will represent a huge loss on the £24 million we paid Villarreal for his services in 2019 (Guardian), I actually think that would be an unbelievable touch for us.
We could have actually lost him for nothing in just a few month’s time, had the West Ham owners not triggered the 12-month extension option they held.
Fornals is nowhere good enough to be playing Premier League football now in my opinion, and a move back to La Liga will be the best thing for his career.
Hopefully then, Moyes can bring a real upgrade on the 27-year-old to West Ham before the January window slams shut.
Pablo Fornals leaving West Ham will be sad to see, but it’s the right move for all parties involved, there is absolutely no doubt about that.
