‘Under pressure’ David Moyes has delivered a West Ham United transfer update and pledges to make more signings.

Moyes in right in the middle of a big rebuild at West Ham this summer, quite literally.

The Hammers completed their third signing for the first team yesterday with a £12m deal for Swansea’s West Ham-supporting midfielder Flynn Downes.

That took Moyes’s summer spend past the £50m mark after the signings of £30m Nayef Aguerd and £10m Alphonse Areola.

A striker and attacking wide forward are also on the agenda for West Ham as well as another central midfielder and left-back.

As most West Ham fans will be well aware, Moyes plays his cards very close to his chest when it comes to pretty much everything – especially transfers.

But the Scot has been discussing his plans for the summer and offering a rare insight into his recruitment hopes.

‘Under pressure’ Moyes has delivered a West Ham transfer update and pledges more signings are to come.

But the Hammers boss admits it is ‘stressful’ and he is ‘feeling the pressure’ of getting deals done for the right players.

“It’s a busy time and as everybody knows we’re trying really hard to add to the squad,” Moyes told whufc.com.

“We’ve been making offers for players, some have been getting accepted and some haven’t been.

“But that’s where the sort of little bit the pressure comes at this time of the year, trying to get those players in that you’d like to add to the squad.”

A striker is surely at the very top of Moyes’ list of priorities following the arrival of Downes.

Armando Broja is allegedly West Ham’s prime target.

Overnight the Hammers have also been linked with a feisty Argentine midfielder.

A new left-back is key after West Ham reportedly missed out to on Tyrell Malacia to Manchester United.

It is great to hear from the manager on transfers and it confirms that there should – hopefully – be further exciting announcements to come before the season gets underway in a month’s time.

The summer transfer window closes on Thursday September 1st at 11pm.
