There has been a twist as Nottingham Forest have cleared West Ham target Joe Worrall to leave in a D-Day loan.
That’s according to Scottish journalist Alan Nixon, who counts West Ham boss David Moyes among his close contacts.
Nottingham Forest have been linked with a late move for West Ham flop Maxwel Cornet.
But could it be a Forest player might head in the other direction too after a development at the City Ground.
Joe Worrall has been a transfer target for West Ham on numerous occasions in the past.

Moyes a known fan of Forest defender
Moyes is a huge fan and it was previously reported that West Ham only failed to sign him after Nottingham Forest got promoted in 2022.
West Ham need another defender in the door.
Nayef Aguerd’s Hammers long-term future is unclear due to inconsistency. Kurt Zouma’s knee issues are well-publicised. Thilo Kehrer has been shipped out to Monaco.
And Angelo Ogbonna – while ageing like a fine Italian wine – is in the twilight of his career.

Twist as West Ham cleared to leave in D-Day loan
A few days before the January transfer window opened The Evening Standard claimed West Ham want Worrall and could make a move to sign him.
Forest’s change of manager has muddied the water over Worrall’s future since.
But there’s a twist as Nottingham Forest clear West Ham target Worrall to leave in a D-Day loan.
That’s according to Sun journalist Nixon, reporting on his Patreon account.
The decision has reportedly taken interested clubs by surprise.

Homegrown status a bonus too
And West Ham’s only competition for the 27-year-old homegrown star would appear to be basement boys Sheffield United and Leeds.
“Nottingham Forest have given the green light for Joe Worrall to leave on loan – after dropping their £6 million demand for a sale…” Nixon reports.
“Centre half Worrall is wanted by Sheffield United and Leeds…
“Leeds could step in for Worrall on loan without any problem but they may be surpsied by this late development.”
Could West Ham also make a late move given Moyes’ admiration of the player and the club’s need to bring in homegrown players.
One to watch for a late surprise deal perhaps. Especially given Nottingham Forest’s interest in a loan deal for Cornet.
