It is time for Hammers boss David Moyes to drop his Jesse Lingard obsession after an embarrassing new West Ham snub.
The Lingard West Ham saga has continued unabated from the moment he returned to Man United after that scintillating six-month loan spell at the London Stadium.
The drawn out, on-off ordeal has seen round after round of claim and counter claim.

One minute West Ham are reported to be close to signing him, the next another club lead the way whether it be Newcastle, Tottenham or Everton.
And the report even claimed Lingard had questioned West Ham’s ambition.
Then all of a sudden the Lingard move was back on and there were more and more encouraging updates emerging by the day.

Everyone knows Moyes has been desperate to bring Lingard back to West Ham on a permanent basis following that loan spell in the second half of the 2020/21 season.
And many fans and pundits feel it is a dream match.
But for Hammers fans it has been more like a never-ending nightmare of recurring headlines.
Sky Sports claimed last week that West Ham were just waiting for Lingard’s answer on their latest offer and that the club ‘remain hopeful’ he will join.

Moyes has seriously laid everything on the line to sign Lingard. The desperate chase for the 29-year-old has become more of an infatuation.
According to The Mirror the Hammers got their Lingard answer at the weekend following the long wait.
And it is now time for Moyes to drop his Lingard obsession after an embarrassing new West Ham snub.
Because after stringing West Ham and Moyes along for all this time Lingard has reportedly told the Hammers their offer “falls well short”.

And he has now whittled down his next destination to three clubs with West Ham not one of them.
That’s what The Mirror are claiming with Lingard now set to decide between West Ham’s bitter rivals Spurs, Newcastle or Everton.
It is a serious slap in the face from Lingard. And an embarrassing new snub for Moyes as he desperately tries to rebuild his paper thin West Ham squad.
West Ham are risking missing out on other targets and players with the relentless focus on Lingard. And his continual snubs are damaging for West Ham’s reputation, especially having their ambition publicly questioned.
Moyes must drop this Lingard obsession now and move on. Enough is enough.
