Tim Steidten leaves the London Stadium on a clear transfer mission after what he saw happen to West Ham United.
With the January transfer window open West Ham are looking to be active as they ship players out to make space.
But West Ham’s need for reinforcements has suddenly become more acute this weekend.
The Hammers’ squad is already well short in key areas in terms of strength in depth.
Indeed in some positions David Moyes has zero credible cover.

West Ham have been in FA Cup action at home to a physical Bristol City with Moyes naming a strong side.
But the clash looks to have come at a heavy price for the Hammers with key players Lucas Paqueta and Konstantinos Mavropanos going off injured in the first half. And Jarrod Bowen hobbling off with a very sore ankle knock at the end of the game.
And given the situation at the club right now, that will undoubtedly have triggered alarm bells for the club’s technical director.

Steidten leaves London Stadium on clear transfer mission
The German was seen on the pitch all smiles and chatting to Moyes as usual pre-match.
But he leaves the LS this evening under new pressure.
Because events of the last few days have surely dictated West Ham must go out and sign a forward and a centre-back.
With Thilo Kehrer shipped out to Monaco, Nayef Aguerd at AFCON and also likely to leave and now Mavropanos injured, West Ham are worryingly short in central defence.
Especially given captain Kurt Zouma has his own injury issues and limitations as to how often he can play.

Hammers must expedite January activity
Mohammed Kudus is away at AFCON – likely until mid-February – and Michail Antonio has suffered a setback in training which will keep him out until next month too.
Flop Danny Ings, Said Benrahma and Maxwel Cornet are all available for transfer. Meanwhile Divin Mubama has struggled to show he is ready to step up.
And now Paqueta is injured again too – potentially along with Bowen – having only just returned from his calf problem.
Steidten is already working away on targets. We know that having been given an exclusive window update from the top source inside the club.
But what he witnessed as he saw Paqueta and Mavropanos hobble off will clearly expedite any transfer activity.
Especially given how poor West Ham have looked without just a few of their key first team players in recent times – including against the Championship Robins.
