A pair of Telegraph journalists have delivered a major update on two deals between West Ham and Wolves in the January window.

We reported on Hammers News yesterday that the January transfer window could see a number of deals between West Ham and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

West Ham are being linked with Wolves skipper Max Kilman having offloaded Thilo Kehrer and with talk Nayef Aguerd could follow.

Meanwhile Said Benrahma, Danny Ings and Aaron Cresswell are all said to be of interest to Gary O’Neil’s Wolves.

Major update on two deals between West Ham and Wolves

Now a pair of Telegraph journalists have delivered a major update on two deals between West Ham and Wolves.

John Percy and Mike McGrath claim £15m Hammers flop Ings could be set to join Wolves on an initial loan.

West Ham are looking to clear squad space for arrivals and to satisfy FFP rules with the club having hit the limit on wages-to-turnover.

Ings earns over £100k per week at West Ham so his exit would be good news in that respect and would surely suggest David Moyes and Tim Steidten are planning to sign a new forward.

But the report carries bad news when it comes to West Ham’s hopes of tempting Wolves to sell Kilman.

Wolves want Ings but Max hopes bleak

Despite O’Neil admitting Wolves must sell players before they can buy this month, Percy and McGrath claim the club do not envisage selling any of their key stars – with captain Kilman certainly in that category.

“Wolves are targeting a net-zero transfer window this month and will prioritise loan signings, with West Ham’s Danny Ings emerging as a potential target…” the Telegraph report states.

The 31-year-old has started only four games in all competitions this season but is a proven operator at this level, with O’Neil an admirer.

“Wolves are only looking at loan deals this month and are likely to wait for more options to become available before moving later in the window… After raising over £140 million in the summer, Wolves are not anticipating the sales of any more first-team stars.”
