Wolves have agreed a transfer deal and it’s great news for West Ham over their January transfer window striker hopes.

The January transfer window could see a number of deals done between West Ham and Wolves.

But it is one Wolverhampton Wanderers have agreed with another club which could clear the path for the Hammers to land a longstanding target.

And according to a report from Sport1 this week, West Ham were interested in signing Wolves hitman Sasa Kalajdzic – a player who David Moyes allegedly chased before he moved to Molineux.

West Ham are also being linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers’ skipper Max Kilman.

Meanwhile Said Benrahma, Danny Ings and Aaron Cresswell are all said to be of interest to Gary O’Neil.

Well now Wolves have agreed a transfer deal and it’s great news for West Ham over their striker hopes.

As reported by BuliNews, the agent of Wolves forward Kalajdzic has confirmed his client is set to join West Ham’s old Europa League foes Eintracht Frankfurt on loan with a view to a permanent move.

Sascha Empacher confirmed a deal is close, saying: “It looks good.”

Ekitike pay off for Hammers in Wolves transfer

And the good news for West Ham is that means Frankfurt have pulled out of the race for their prime striker target Hugo Ekitike.

West Ham fans who read our Hammers News exclusive with transfer reporter Rudy Galetti this week will know PSG outcast Ekitike remains very much on the club’s radar.

In fact Galetti told Hammers News there is already an broad agreement in place between West Ham and Ekitike over personal terms following talks in the summer window.

Galetti’s big Ekitike claim

The move didn’t happen then but Frankfurt signing Wolves’ towering forward has now cleared the path for the Hammers to finally land Ekitike – a player who has been linked with a move to the London Stadium for two years.

Galetti told HN West Ham are chasing Ekitike, Armando Broja and Serhou Guirassy. And he revealed signing Ekitike was the most likely.

“With Ekitike – on personal terms – there is a general understanding for a possible move already in the next few weeks, while with PSG, who are willing to let him go anyway, there are still many things to discuss for West Ham,” Galetti told Hammers News.

Meanwhile Wolves boss O’Neil has given West Ham great encouragement over their hopes of landing Kilman with a big January window admission.
