Exclusive: Transfer reporter Rudy Galetti has given Hammers News an exciting triple striker update for the January window.

West Ham need to strike a light on their striker search because they’re a striker light.

Evidence that the Hammers are desperately short of any quality in depth up front compared to many of Premier League rivals was plentiful in the drab 0-0 draw with Brighton.

Michail Antonio might return from injury soon. But his form for West Ham was terrible prior to that and the Jamaican turns 34 in March.

Ideally West Ham will get at least one new striker through the door in the January transfer window.

But they’re chasing THREE according to a top Italian transfer reporter.

Galetti gives exciting triple striker update

Rudy Galetti has spoken exclusively to Hammers News to deliver an exciting triple striker update.

The Sport Italia and Sky Sports Italy journalist has told Hammers News West Ham have made enquiries for Hugo Ekitike, Armando Broja and Serhou Guirassy in January.

The Hammers have been linked with PSG outcast Ekitike and Chelsea bit-part player Broja for the best part of two years now.

And there has been intense speculation of a move for Stuttgart’s 18-goal forward Guirassy for several months.

Here Galetti gives the lowdown on West Ham’s striker transfer plans, confirming interest in the three forwards and the outlook on our chances of signing them.

Ekitike looking most likely journalist tells Hammers News

“West Ham – as I am told – are looking for a new striker in January,” Galetti told Hammers News.

“With Ekitike – on personal terms – there is a general understanding for a possible move already in the next few weeks, while with PSG, who are willing to let him go anyway, there are still many things to discuss for West Ham.

“Broja has been followed by West Ham for a long time. He is a difficult option in this transfer window. West Ham asked for info, but to date it’s unlikely that he will leave Chelsea during January. In the summer, the situation could change.

“Lastly Guirassy is on West Ham’s list, but the competition for him is really intense.

“As you know, the search of the striker for West Ham is a work in progress anyway: there could be unexpected developments even in the short term. Let’s see…”
