There has been a major update from Billy McKinlay after serious concerns were raised over West Ham captain Kurt Zouma.
West Ham captain Kurt Zouma has missed the last three of the last four games in all competitions.
The defender is currently out of Hammers action with another issue in his troublesome knee.
Earlier this week a source close to the board claimed Zouma’s persistent knee issues and inability to play the majority of West Ham’s games have seen David Moyes concede he must look to bring in a new centre-back in the January transfer window.

McKinlay’s major update after serious Zouma concerns
It has also been stated elsewhere that the Hammers will not be offering Zouma a new contract until late in the day of his current deal expiring in the summer of 2025.
Now there has been a major update from Billy McKinlay after the serious concerns over West Ham captain Zouma.
It was short but very much sweet as McKinlay, standing in for Moyes in the pre-match press conference ahead of the FA Cup third round tie with Bristol City, revealed Zouma has been back in Hammers training at Rush Green.
In what is a quadruple boost for West Ham, McKinlay confirmed Zouma’s return to training alongside Michail Antonio, Lucas Paqueta and Vladimir Coufal.

‘We’ll make a decision’
“Vladimir, Kurt, Michail and Lucas trained today and obviously we’ve got an extra day tomorrow (Saturday) so well probably assess them tomorrow after training (on Saturday) and make a decision based on that,”
Given there is a two-week winter break after the Bristol City clash, it may be Zouma is not risked. The same will likely be true for Antonio, who has been out with a knee injury since November.
West Ham have allowed Thilo Kehrer to leave the club for Monaco while Nayef Aguerd is also being linked with a move away.
So it is easy to see why there are concerns over Zouma’s ability to play multiple games a week.
The Hammers are being linked with a host of defenders in the January window including Jonathan Tah and Max Kilman.
