A German reporter has confirmed clauses and exactly how much West Ham will get from Monaco for Thilo Kehrer as the deal nears completion.

As we reported yesterday, an agreement has been reached between West Ham and Monaco for the transfer of Thilo Kehrer.

It sees Kehrer return to France after the Hammers signed him from PSG for £10.5m in the summer of 2022.

The deal will see the German defender leave West Ham after just 18 months in east London in a loan with obligation to buy if certain clauses are met.

Now a German reporter has confirmed exactly how much West Ham will get from Monaco for Kehrer as the deal nears completion.

Reporter confirms clauses and fees for Kehrer

Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg says the clauses in Kehrer’s deal are ‘easily achievable’ in order to turn it into an obligation.

And once that is activated West Ham will receive just under £10m. But the Hammers are also getting a near £500k loan fee meaning they will more or less recoup what they paid for the defender.

Plettenberg says Kehrer will travel to Monaco today to complete the deal.

“Kehrer: It’s almost a DONE DEAL now!” Plettenberg said on X.

“If nothing goes wrong, the 27 y/o could travel to Monaco today to finalise the deal.

“Exclusive detail: The six-months-loan deal includes an obligation to buy of around €11.5m (£9.9m)! The conversion to the obligation to buy is tied to easily achievable parameters.

“Understand that first contracts were exchanged in the last 1-2 days! Loan fee: €500k (£430k).”

Hammers recoup original outlay

With West Ham needing to move fringe players on in order to make signings in the January transfer window, Kehrer was widely touted to be one to depart.

He established himself as an important utility player for West Ham on their way to Europa Conference League glory last season.

But he has played just 19 minutes of Premier League football for West Ham this season.

In fact he has been completely maginalised by David Moyes, making just four starts in all competitions.

Kehrer will be fondly remembered by West Ham fans for his part in the European success and for leading the celebrations in the subsequent parade.
