‘Agreement has been reached’ on a first West Ham deal of the window as Thilo Kehrer nears a move to Monaco on loan with an option.
Thilo Kehrer is one of a host of fringe players who faced an uncertain future at West Ham going into the January transfer window.
West Ham must offload players in in order to make signings this month. That was confirmed by our top source inside West Ham over a month ago.
The reasons being that the Hammers must free up space in the squad, raise funds and satisfy FFP rules regarding wages-to-turnover.
On Sunday we reported on claims from Fabrizio Romano that Kehrer – who reportedly had nine clubs interested in him – was in talks to leave West Ham for Monaco.

‘Agreement reached’ on first West Ham deal of the window
Now it’s ‘agreement reached’ on the first West Ham deal of the window as Kehrer nears Monaco loan with an option.
That’s according to Foot Mercato journalists Sebastien Denis and Santi Auona.
“According to our information, the Monegasque management has reached a full agreement with the 27-year-old player as well as the London-based club,” the report states.
“The native of Tübingen will make his return to Ligue 1, after having worn the colours of Paris Saint-Germain for four seasons, in the form of a six-month loan with an option to purchase.”

Kehrer nears Monaco loan with option
The £10.5m signing has played just 19 minutes of Premier League football for West Ham this season.
That’s despite establishing himself as an important utility player for West Ham on their way to Europa Conference League glory last season.
This term, though, Kehrer has been completely marginalised by David Moyes, making just four starts in all competitions.
So it is hardly a surprise that he has sought a move or that West Ham have sanctioned it. Especially with the Hammers keen to free up space in the squad and on the wage bill.
Moyes will now surely be looking to replace Kehrer with a right-back given West Ham’s lack of depth in that position.
West Ham have been heavily linked with one of the Championship’s best players in that position who can, crucially, also play at left-back.
