A transfer specialist has named the six players on West Ham’s January window shortlist and the five who could leave.

The January transfer window is now officially open and it could be a busy month for West Ham.

It will need to be if the Hammers want to make signings because the club must first move players out in order to do so.

Transfer speculation has been building in the run-up to the window.

Especially after David Moyes confirmed he is looking to sign players following the win over Arsenal.

Now a transfer specialist has named the six players on West Ham’s January shortlist and the five who could leave.

Simon Jones is The Daily Mail’s top man when it comes to inside transfer information.

And in his new column, he claims West Ham are prioritising a central defender and a striker in January.

Jones states that West Ham have four prime striker targets in the shape of Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy, Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke, Santos youngster Marcos Leonardo and Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee.

Dan-Axel Zagadou – Guirassy’s Stuttgart teammate – is said to be the main defensive target.

The five who could leave

In terms of outgoings, which are needed to make space in the squad and on the wage bill to satisfy FFP, Jones claims Lyon-linked Said Benrahma, Monaco-linked Thilo Kehrer, midfield duo Pablo Fornals and Maxwel Cornet and flop forward Danny Ings are all possible departures.

None of those names will surprise West Ham fans as they have all been linked in the run-up to the window.

There is little time to waste in the January window, so West Ham will have to have incomings lined up and ready to go if and when they can ship out their fringe players.

According to Fabrizio Romano last night, the Hammers are on the verge of doing their first deal.
