West Ham United could miss out on Anthony Martial, with the Manchester United forward being linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.

According to Sean Whetstone – a reporter close to West Ham owner David Sullivan, Anthony Martial could be set to leave Manchester United to join the Saudi Pro League in the summer transfer window.

It was claimed just a couple of days ago that the 27-year-old Man United forward was a transfer target or West Ham this summer.

The link came as no surprise, with Hammers boss David Moyes desperate to add a pacey forward to his front-line at the London Stadium.

However, it seems like Martial will not be the man for the job at West Ham…

Time for West Ham to move on from Anthony Martial then.

Martial has flattered to deceive since joining Man United from Monaco for £57 million including add-ons in 2015 (The Guardian). His injury record has been poor during his time in England as well.

So missing out on him probably isn’t the worst thing in the world for the Hammers.

West Ham probably can do better than Anthony Martial this summer, certainly from a value for money perspective.
