A new report claims Wolves have told West Ham they can sign Max Kilman but it will set them back a hefty fee.

West Ham and Wolverhampton Wanderers are sharing plenty of column inches already in the January transfer window.

Wolves took wantaway Craig Dawson from West Ham last January and tried to sign Aaron Cresswell in the summer too. Gary O’Neil’s side have also been linked with Hammers duo Danny Ings and Said Benrahma this week.

West Ham are on the lookout for a new defender this month having shipped Thilo Kehrer out to Monaco.

Hammers want Max power

Kurt Zouma has a worrying injury record and speculation is also rife Nayef Aguerd could be sold by the Hammers too.

According to reports this week, Wolves defender Max Kilman is firmly on West Ham’s radar this month – a player who the Hammers were linked with a move for in the summer.

The brilliant ball-carrying 26-year-old centre-back, who was born in London, has been fantastic for Wolves this season.

So it’s easy to see why West Ham are interested.

West Ham can sign star Kilman but for hefty fee

Now new reports claim Wolves have told West Ham they can sign star Kilman but only if they meet his hefty price tag.

The likes of talkSPORT and FootballFanCast claim Wolves are facing up to the fact they may have to sell Kilman to keep the right side of FFP rules – especially if they want to invest in the window themselves.

But they have set West Ham a high asking price of £40m.

West Ham would only have that kind of cash if they did manage to offload players such as Aguerd alobg with Kehrer.

Logical swap on cards?

Although they may not have to part with the full amount if Wolves really are serious about signing Benrahma and Ings, who – logic suggests – could be potential makeweights in any deal.

Wolves captain Kilman would be an absolutely superb signing for West Ham.

Not only does he tick the homegrown player box the Hammers are urgently looking to address.

But he would also be a major upgrade on Aguerd and natural left-footed successor to Angelo Ogbonna.
