West Ham United are reportedly now interested in signing Freiburg winger Roland Sallai in the January transfer window.

That’s according to football journalist Bence Bocsak who claims Freiburg are demanding £17 million for the Hammers target this winter.

Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to bolster his ranks at the London Stadium in January.

And the Scot admitted today that his original approach to transfers this month may well change.

The West Ham manager has now suggested that he’s open to bringing in some new faces this winter, and boy does he need to do exactly that.

The East London outfit have taken just 14 points from our opening 16 Premier League games and we are currently sitting just outside the relegation zone.

It seems as though Moyes is planning to ease our current woes by adding to his attacking ranks in January…

West Ham eyeing up Roland Sallai January swoop

With Maxwell Cornet still struggling with injuries, getting a new attacking signing over the line may well be key for Moyes.

The Hammers are allegedly plotting a £17 million January move to sign the Freiburg flyer.

That’s according to football journalist Bence Bocsak, who claims that the player is keen to move on from the Bundesliga side as well:

The 38-capped Hungary international can play on either wing or in the number 10 position, but his natural position is out wide on the right.

He has bagged 18 goals and 13 assists in 108 appearances for Freiburg (Transfermarkt).

Sallai proved his quality with two goals for Hungary against England in June during an emphatic 4-0 win for his county.

For £17 million, Roland Sallai would be a very smart acquisition for West Ham in my opinion. And he would certainly provide stiff competition and cover for Jarrod Bowen.
