West Ham want to reunite 25-year-old World Cup star Youssef En-Nesyri with £30m summer signing Nayef Aguerd in January.

That’s according to a report from The Daily Mail who claim that the Hammers are trying to prise the Moroccan hitman away from La Liga side Sevilla this winter.

David Moyes ended his long search for a centre-forward in the summer when he signed Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo.

It could be argued that the Scot needs to bolster his striker ranks at the London Stadium even further still though.

En-Nesyri is someone who West Ham have been heavily linked with before, and he now could be available for a bargain £13 million fee.

It seems as though signing the 25-year-old for that price is an opportunity that Moyes does not want to pass up on…

West Ham want to reunite World Cup star with summer signing

The Daily Mail claim that Moyes is really keen to bring the Morocco international to the London Stadium this winter.

Moyes signed En-Nesyri’s international teammate Aguerd in the summer from Rennes for around £30 million (Sky Sports).

Aguerd will undoubtedly go on to be a huge hit at West Ham, and there are plenty who think that En-Nesyri will follow suit.

I must say though, I would be fairly underwhelmed if Moyes signs the Moroccan.

En-Nesyri has scored just four goals in his last 33 games for the La Liga side (Transfermarkt). In fact, he’s bagged just four goals since September 2021!

I have to say, I really wasn’t impressed with the Moroccan one little bit when we faced Sevilla over two legs in the Europa League last season.

Who knows? Perhaps En-Nesyri will get back to his best at some point throughout the season.

As things stand though, the outlook appears to be bleak for him at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.

He certainly isn’t anywhere near the levels he was at a couple of years ago.

The thing is, if the Hammers can pick him up for just £13 million, it may well be worth the risk for Moyes to take a punt on him, in spite of everything I’ve just said!

The fact that En-Nesyri’s Moroccan international teammate Nayef Aguerd is already at the London Stadium would undoubtedly help the Sevilla ace settle in.

It’s worth remembering as well that he did prove his class with a quality header in the World Cup quarter-final clash with Portugal.

West Ham want to reunite World Cup star En-Nesyri with summer signing Nayef Aguerd, and I think that may well be a decent move in the end for Moyes. As long as he can pick him up for £13 million or less.
