West Ham United are leading the race to sign Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri from Sevilla in the January transfer window.

That’s according to a report from Spanish publication Fichajes.net who claim that the La Liga side are keen to sell the 25-year-old striker to the Hammers.

On top of that, En-Nesyri allegedly wants to move to the London Stadium as well!

And Sevilla could demand as little as £13 million for the striker in January, according to a report from Vamos Mi Sevilla.

So it seems as though there is literally no reason why this one shouldn’t happen, if the latest round of reports are to be believed…

West Ham leading race to sign Youssef En-Nesyri

Fichajes.net reckon that Hammers boss David Moyes is in pole position to bring En-Nesyri to the London Stadium in January.

I must say though, I would be fairly underwhelmed if Moyes signs the Moroccan.

En-Nesyri has scored just four goals in his last 33 games for the La Liga side (Transfermarkt). In fact, he’s bagged just four goals since September 2021!

I have to say, I really wasn’t impressed with the Moroccan one little bit when we faced Sevilla over two legs in the Europa League last season.

Who knows? Perhaps En-Nesyri will get back to his best at some point throughout the season

As things stand though, the outlook appears to be bleak for him at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.

He certainly isn’t anywhere near the levels he was at a couple of years ago.

The thing is, if the Hammers can pick him up for just £13 million, it may well be worth the risk for Moyes to take a punt on him, in spite of everything I’ve just said!

And it’s worth remembering that En-Nesyri’s Moroccan international teammate Nayef Aguerd is already at the London Stadium.

So the 26-year-old centre-back will undoubtedly sell the club to the Sevilla hitman.

The Scot definitely needs to add another centre-forward to his ranks, and with West Ham leading the race to sign En-Nesyri, I think this one definitely could happen this winter.
