West Ham are keen to sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea, but Everton have moved in first with an official bid for the midfielder.

talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook first claimed that Hammers boss David Moyes is keen to sign the 22-year-old Chelsea star and then Fabrizio Romano suggested that Everton have made a £45 million bid for him.

So it seems as though once again we are the club sitting back and watching on as others make concrete moves to strengthen their squads before the January transfer window slams shut.

It was claimed this morning that Newcastle were keen to sign the 22-year-old midfielder from Chelsea before deadline day.

And now Everton could be set to beat both West Ham and Newcastle to the punch…

West Ham want Conor Gallagher but Everton make first move

Alex Crook broke the Hammers’ interest in signing the 22-year-old Chelsea midfielder earlier today.

Unfortunately for us though, it seems as though one of our main relegation rivals are making the firmest approach to prise him away from Stamford Bridge.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Everton have lodged a £45 million bid (£40 million plus £5 million in add-ons) for Conor Gallagher.

The Toffees have sacked Frank Lampard and appointed Sean Dyche and seem to be intent on strengthening their squad before tomorrow’s 11pm deadline.

Meanwhile, the Hammers are sitting around waiting for things to happen, or quite simply just watching everything pan out.

NOT. GOOD. ENOUGH.

David Moyes and his team are slowly sleepwalking towards relegation down to the Championship. West Ham signing Conor Gallagher from Chelsea would have changed all of that in my opinion.

But instead, Everton seem to be in pole position to prise him away from west London. And that’s just not acceptable in my opinion.
