West Ham United reportedly now want to sign 23-year-old Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Sara from Norwich City in the summer transfer window.

Hammers boss David Moyes has a lot of work to do at the London Stadium in the summer, if he is still in the job of course.

One area in particular where the West Ham manager will definitely need to strengthen is his central midfield ranks, with Declan Rice almost certainly set to leave before the start of next season.

Replacing Rice will obviously not be an easy task at all.

It seems as though Moyes could be ready to shop in the Championship to do exactly that though…

West Ham eyeing Gabriel Sara swoop

According to a report from Sunday Mirror (print edition March 12th, page 71), Moyes wants to bring the 23-year-old Norwich star to the London Stadium in the summer transfer window.

Sara is a real talent and has been a big hit with the Canaries since moving to Carrow Road from Sao Paulo for around £11 million in the summer of 2022 (The Mirror).

He has bagged five goals and four assists in 29 Championship games for Norwich so far this season (Transfermarkt).

During those appearances, he has averaged 1.1 tackles per game and has recorded a completion rate of 80% from 34.1 passes per match (Who Scored).

Sara’s playing style is quintessentially Brazilian in the sense that he is a fabulous technician. However, he’s not afraid of getting stuck in either and is a really tenacious tackler.

West Ham signing Gabriel Sara would be a very good move in my opinion.

Quite how much money Norwich will demand fo the talented South American remains to be seen though.
