West Ham United can allegedly sign Gustav Isaksen for just €20 million (£17.5 million) in the summer of 2023.

Midtjylland CEO Claus Steinlein has claimed that the club have an agreement with the 21-year-old that he will remain with the club until next summer, when speaking to Tipsbladet.

And if he is to be sold, Steinlein says he will demand at least £17.5 million for his signature.

It was claimed earlier this week that West Ham could face competition from Arsenal for the signing of Isaksen.

And it seems as though both clubs will have to lay out a fair bit of cash for someone who is entirely unproven in the Premier League…

West Ham told fee needed for Gustav Isaksen

Midtjylland CEO Claus Steinlein has been speaking to Tipsbladet about the 21-year-old’s future.

And he responded when asked whether he will be leaving the club any time soon:

We have made an agreement with Gustav, his family and agent that he will stay until the summer, and then we will sell. However, the offer may become too large, and I fear that it will. I was made aware a week ago that the biggest sale in the history of the Superliga is €20m, and if he has to leave, we have to beat it. It is realistic when you look at what has happened in the last week, and you know which clubs are looking at him. It could well be really exciting, and otherwise he will have to stay at FC Midtjylland for half a year more.

He has already bagged seven goals and three assists in 24 games for Midtjylland so far this season (Transfermarkt).

Isaksen is an incredible young talent and has been described as a ‘wonderkid’ by The Sun.

The 21-year-old Dane has pace in abundance and is a really gifted technician. He would be a tremendous addition for West Ham in the summer transfer window.

He is obviously totally unproven in the Premier League, and is still very rough around the edges.

Isaksen’s ability and potential means that he will undoubtedly be a huge success at the very highest level though.

I would love to see David Moyes bring the 21-year-old to the London Stadium this summer.

And £17.5 million for Gustav Isaksen will be a small price to pay for West Ham in my opinion.
