West Ham United are in a good position to sign Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz in the January transfer window.
That’s according to football journalist Dean Jones who told Give me Sport that the Hammers are ready to make a move to sign the Chile international when the time is right.
David Moyes clearly needs to bring another striker to the London Stadium in January. Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca are currently both struggling with injuries.
West Ham are in all sorts of trouble at the moment, and we have really lacked firepower during the first few months of the 2022/23 campaign.

And with that in mind, the signing of a talented attacker would give everyone a real boost heading into the second half of the season…
West Ham in good position to sign striker
The Hammers are well placed to sign the Chile international according to Dean Jones.
The football journalist told Give me Sport:
I think West Ham are still in a pretty good position on this one for whenever the time comes to move, but he’s been prepped by a lot of teams this season, like a ridiculous number of teams.
The West Ham fans will know all about Brereton Diaz. The 23-year-old scored a magnificent goal against us in the Carabao Cup at the London Stadium last month.
I think that The Chilean is a very solid player and will be a strong signing for whichever club wins the race for his signature this summer.
Brereton Diaz has really impressed since the start of the 2021/22 campaign and he seems to have reached another level entirely for Blackburn.
The Chile international bagged 22 goals in 37 Championship games last season (Transfermarkt). Brereton Diaz actually went nine games without scoring after the new year but made up for that with a couple of goals in Blackburn’s final four games of the season.

Brereton Diaz is a hard working striker and standing at 6ft 1in tall, he’s big and strong as well.
Ex-Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray recently raved about the Chile international, as quoted by Lancs Live:
“Brereton with the ball at his feet is an extraordinary talent. He’s a wonderful footballer who can dribble with both feet, take people out of the game.”
Brereton Diaz would provide able competition and cover for Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio at the London Stadium.
And with West Ham reportedly in a good position to sign the striker, it seems as though this one has some legs to it.
