A timescale for the Nayef Aguerd West Ham move is announced in a new report as an agreement over a deal edges ever closer.
West Ham have been heavily linked with Rennes and Morocco star Aguerd.
According to West Ham insiders speaking to Claret and Hugh, the Hammers have seen off competition from Sevilla to sign the 26-year-old left-footed centre-back.
With the deal being reported as imminent earlier in the week – and with rival clubs such as Aston Villa already announcing four big signings – some Hammers fans have been understandably concerned the deal may have hit issues.
But it seems those fears are unfounded.
Because a new report has set out a timescale for when the Aguerd West Ham move will be announced as an agreement edges closer.
And the reports state that an agreement is expected between West Ham and Rennes ‘by the beginning of next week’ over the transfer of central defender Aguerd.
Get French Football News reported that SRFC’s (Rennes) initial demands to sell the player were €40m (£35) including bonuses.
“But talks are continuing between the parties and an eventual agreement is expected to be found somewhere between the two figures (£25-35m),” GFFN reports.
So there you have it West Ham fans it seems the deal should be agreed and announced early next week according to the reports from France.
It will mark a very positive start to the summer window for West Ham and David Moyes if they can get the Aguerd deal done and dusted.
Aguerd’s talent is obvious for anyone that has seen him play or takes a look at his YouTube highlights reel.
His stats are seriously impressive too.
According to Opta data, Aguerd has made the most forward passes of any outfield player in the top five European leagues since the start of the 2020-21 season!
