Newcastle are now confident of beating West Ham United in the race to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja this summer.
That’s according to a report from The Northern Echo who claim that that Newcastle think they are in pole position to sign the 20-year-old Chelsea hitman ahead of the Hammers.

Losing out on Broja to Newcastle really would be a bitter pill to swallow.
The Magpies’ far superior wealth may make it impossible for Moyes to get his hands on his prime transfer target in the summer window.
Eddie Howe essentially has unlimited transfer funds at his disposal this summer and that could make a deal to bring Broja to Newcastle a fairly straightforward one…

The Northern Echo claim that the Toon are confident of winning the race to sign the Chelsea striker this summer.
Broja would be a superb addition for either West Ham or Newcastle.
He has been described as an ‘electric’ forward by Yahoo. And they’re not wrong!
The Chelsea ace is one of the most talented young forwards on the planet at the moment and he could genuinely take the Hammers or the Toon to a new level entirely next season.
Broja spent last season on loan from Chelsea at Southampton and he massively impressed.
The Albanian has proven that he is a striker who is well capable of succeeding at the very highest level.
The Chelsea owned ace is strong, quick and is a really, really good finisher. Broja bagged nine goals and one assist in 36 games for Southampton last term (Transfermarkt).
It is his all around game that has been the most impressive thing about him though. The way in which he holds up the ball with his back to goal and brings others into play has been truly magnificent to watch.
Broja seems to be ideally suited to West Ham and considering the way in which he stretches the opposition with tireless runs into the channels, it’s easy to see why Moyes wants to sign him.
Chelsea could demand as much as £58 million for Broja though (Tuttomercatoweb). That’s obviously a huge problem for the Hammers.
The Magpies’s interest in signing the Albanian could be even more problematic though.
And if Newcastle beat West Ham in the Broja race, there will be plenty of fuming Hammers fans.
