Aston Villa could make a move to sign Manuel Lanzini from West Ham this summer.
According to a report from Fotomac, West Ham midfielder Manuel Lanzini is firmly on the radar of Aston Villa ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 30-year-old West Ham man is out of contract at the London Stadium this summer, and although the club have the option to extend that deal by a further two years, he recently hinted that he could leave.

Lanzini still has a lot to offer us in my opinion, and David Moyes has badly underused him this season.
If he wants regular football, he will probably have to leave West Ham this summer…
Aston Villa want to sign Manuel Lanzini
Fotomac reckon that Villa have joined Besiktas and River Plate in the race for the 30-year-old Hammer.
The 30-year-old attacking midfielder joined West Ham for around £9.4 million on a permanent deal in the summer of 2016 (The Express), having spent the 2015/16 campaign on loan at Upton Park.
Lanzini was an exceptional player for us during his first three years at the club. However, an ACL injury in the summer of 2018 really halted his career.
In truth, the South American has never really been the same player since that injury. That’s no disgrace, plenty of players struggle to return to their best after suffering ACL injuries.

However, he has adapted into more of a sitting central midfielder over the past few years. With his exceptional technical ability and composure in possession, I really feel like Moyes missed a big trick not playing him more this season.
He was recently described as ‘incredible’ by the Evening Standard, whilst the Guardian label him as a ‘phenomenal’ player.
If Manuel Lanzini leaves West Ham and joins Aston Villa, I will actually be pretty annoyed. I would much rather he stayed at the London Stadium, or move back to River Plate.
It will be interesting to see what happens with this one over the next few weeks and months.
