Everton are the latest club to make a last-ditch attempt to sign West Ham United transfer target Nicolo Zaniolo from AS Roma.

That’s according to a report from Sport Italia who claim that Everton are attempting to sign the 23-year-old attacking midfielder at the death.

Hammers boss David Moyes has been trying to sign Zaniolo all window long according to the likes of Tutto Juve.

However, Roma are believed to be reluctant to sell the 23-year-old star to the Hammers, because the East London club’s owners are allegedly trying to include a clause into the deal whereby they won’t be obliged to sign him permanently if we are relegated.

The Italian is the absolutely perfect player for West Ham and Moyes should be doing everything that he can to bring him to the London Stadium.

Our relegation rivals Everton are the ones who are making a concrete move to sign him though, frustratingly…

Everton eyeing move to sign Nicolo Zaniolo

Sport Italia reckon that the Toffees are making a last minute dash to add to their ranks before tonight’s 11pm deadline.

If Everton beat West Ham to the signing of Zaniolo there should be a mutiny in East London. What on earth is going on with us?

Zaniolo would take us to another level entirely. Yet it seems as though we’re not even trying to make it happen.

The Italian club want around €30 million (£26.5 million) for the 23-year-old according to Roma Press.

Football Italia describe the Roma star as a wonderful talent. And they’re spot on – he really is special.

Zaniolo is a world-class player in the making. Italy boss Roberto Mancini once described the 23-year-old as an ‘extraordinary’ player (Goal).

Zaniolo is big and powerful and standing at 6ft 3in tall, he seems to be perfectly built for the Premier League.

The Roma attacker can play in a variety of positions including the number 10 role and on both wings, and he has a proven track record of producing the goods at the very highest level for a sustained period of time.

If Everton sign Zaniolo I will be absolutely fuming.
