West Ham United are allegedly prepared to sell Croatian international Nikola Vlasic for around £21.4 million this summer.

That’s according to a report from Italian publication Calciomercato who claim that the Hammers’ demands are proving to be too much for Torino.

David Moyes would be wise to move the 24-year-old attacking midfielder on from the London Stadium in the summer transfer window.

The 39-capped Croatian international experienced a hugely underwhelming debut campaign with West Ham United last season.

The 24-year-old joined West Ham from CSKA Moscow last summer for around £33 million (Evening Standard). There is no chance that we will get anything like that for him now.

Vlasic bagged just one goal and two assists all season for the Hammers (Transfermarkt). And despite being played out of position, he just didn’t show enough promise.

It seems as though the East London outfit are still trying to recoup a decent fee for the Croatian though…

West Ham are prepared to sell Vlasic but for a large fee

Calciomercato claim that Torino want to sign Vlasic but the Hammers are demanding as much as €25 million (£21.4 million) for his signature.

Despite the fact that that fee would represent more than an £11 million loss on our initial outlay on the 24-year-old, we still think it would be very good business for West Ham.

Vlasic just doesn’t have the skillset needed to succeed in the Premier League in my opinion.

There is a valid argument that David Moyes played him out of position and that he wasn’t given enough chances to prove himself.

Generally though, the robust nature and ferocious speed of Premier League football just seemed to be too much to handle for him.

It’s a shame that things haven’t worked out for the former CSKA Moscow attacker or the Hammers.

It’s good news that West Ham are prepared to sell Vlasic. The powers that be at the London Stadium might just have to lower their demands for the Croatian though.
