Newcastle United have reportedly made an official approach to sign West Ham United right-back Harrison Ashby on deadline day.
That’s according to The Daily Mail who claim that Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is desperate to bring in cover at right-back for Emil Krafth after he suffered an ACL injury.

The report states that West Ham are reluctant to allow the 20-year-old to join Newcastle, however.

Money talks though, and if Newcastle make a lucrative offer for Ashby, he may well be on his way out of the London Stadium on deadline day…
Newcastle make Harrison Ashby approach
The Daily Mail reckon that Newcastle have swooped in for the 20-year-old Hammers starlet on transfer deadline day.
We’d be fuming if he is allowed to leave the London Stadium to join the Magpies.
He has so much about him and has already proven that he is capable of mixing it up with seasoned veterans for the West Ham senior team.

Ashby is one of the brightest talents to be coming through the ranks at the London Stadium and he was in sensational form for the under-23s last term.
The 20-year-old clearly has all of the attributes needed to make it at the very highest level.
If he continues to work hard and applies himself properly, both on and off the pitch, the young right-back will have a very bright future ahead of him in the game.
And if Newcastle are allowed to sign Harrison Ashby from West Ham on deadline day, there will undoubtedly be plenty of anger directed at the board from the Hammers fans.
